Exhibition catalogue focusing on the Constructivism and Suprematism movements in the early Soviet Union.
This was an unprecedented exhibition including more than 450 works by 40 artists, including Chagall, Exter and Malevich. The development of Russian avant-garde art was presented in chronological order. In addition to paintings and sculptures, works on view included an abstract environment and a full-scale stage set with costumes; clothes, dinnerware, architectural models, and furniture design; and books, collages, and other representations.
